Michaud Votes Against Adjourning Congress

June 30th, 2010 · Filed under: Capitol news · No Comments

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Mike Michaud issued the following statement after voting against an adjournment resolution that would allow Congress to break for the July 4th recess:

“If Congress doesn’t act, about 1.7 million Americans will have lost their benefits by this Saturday, including thousands of Mainers. I am beyond frustrated at this point. It’s unconscionable for the House to vote to adjourn before this crucial extension is passed. There is still time, and I urge the House and Senate to act before leaving town.”
