  • Anne Beebe-Center wins Rockland's House 93 seat in special election

Anne “Pinny” Beebe-Center, a Democrat from Rockland, is the winner of today’s special election in House District 93, encompassing Rockland and Owls Head. Beebe-Center received 915 votes total.

“I am honored to be representing the people of Rockland and Owls Head in the Maine House,” said Beebe-Center. “I am humbled by the outpouring of support from the community and incredibly thankful for the volunteers who put in countless hours on my campaign. I’m ready to get to work to better the lives of families in Rockland and Owls Head.”

Beebe-Center ran as a Clean Elections candidate, focusing her efforts on a positive, grassroots campaign that took her across the district talking to voters about their concerns. She is small business owner and dedicated public servant in the Rockland community. She previously served as Knox County Commissioner and in various roles advocating for local families and youth.

“We congratulate Pinny on her successful campaign for House District 93,” said said House Speaker Mark Eves of North Berwick. “Pinny’s record of public service and experience as a small business owner will make her an excellent legislator.  Her ability to listen and bring people together will be an asset in Augusta as we get to work on a better budget deal for Maine families. We look forward to having her serve in the Maine House.”

“Tonight’s victory is rejection of Gov. LePage’s budget proposal and the dire impact it will have on Maine families and their checkbooks,” said Phil Bartlett, chair of the Maine Democratic Party. “This election is a sign that Mainers want progressive voices that will fight for fair taxes in Augusta. Pinny is a true leader who will represent all Maine families, not just the wealthy few.”
