Four rural Maine communities will be sharing in more than $1 million federal stimulus money through the United States Department of Agriculture.

Jonesport is getting $200,000 to build a new fire station. The Pleasant Point Passamaquoddy reservation will get a little more than $250,000 to replace a leaking roof and other renovations.

Calais Regional Hospital will receive $200,000 to purchase new digital mammography equipment and $398,000 will go to the Swans Island Educational Society to renovate a fire-damaged library. The Maine projects are part of $193 million in recovery act funds distributed for projects nationwide.
